About Us

Kingsclere Estates is a 2500 acre mixed farm on the North Hampshire Downs. Run by the fourth generation of the May family, we are passionate about producing quality meat in a way which benefits the customers, the farm, the animals, the soil, the ecosystems, and the local community.

Our animals graze 1500 acres of herb-rich pasture containing clover, sanfoin, chicory, yarrow, trefoil and burnett.

Pasture-fed meat is a new venture following Tim's Nuffield Scholarship and his determination to change the way we farmed to a system that was beneficial to all involved.

Why Pasture-fed Meat?

Pasture-fed meat can be more beneficial than grain fed meat in ten different ways.

  1. Lower in total fat
  2. Lower in the saturated fats linked with heart disease
  3. Higher in total omega-3 fatty acids (good fats)
  4. A healthier ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids
  5. Higher in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a potential cancer fighter
  1. Higher in vaccenic acid (which can be turned into CLA)
  2. Higher in vitamin E
  3. Higher in B vitamins
  4. Higher in beta-carotene
  5. Higher in the minerals calcium, magnesium and potassium
